Portland, OR (September 1st, 2022) — Comikey is pleased to partner with Shueisha for their, "Manga Mee & World Debut Vertical Manga Award." This contest will be hosted on Shueisha's manga platform for shoujo and josei readers, "Manga Meets".
The contest will start on August 28, 2022, and will end on October 11, 2022, at midnight.
The awards for the contest winners are as follows:
- Grand Prize: 300,000 yen (approximately $2,220.00 USD) + Manga Mee serialization rights + localization and distribution to English-speaking audiences on Comikey's platform.
- 2nd Place: 100,000 yen (approximately $740.00 USD) + Manga Mee serialization rights + localization and distribution to English-speaking audiences on Comikey's platform.
- Honorable Mention: 50,000 yen (approximately $370.00 USD).
About "Manga Meets"
Shueisha's rookie manga platform for shoujo and josei readers, launched in August 2020.
In addition to being able to apply for various serialization awards for manga magazines published by Shueisha, events to support people who want to become mangaka are held from time to time, giving users the ability to comment and provide feedback on entries. Scouting is performed with professional editors, and many manga artists who are active as professionals have been recruited through these contests.
